Abstract:

I have a crazy theory that television is an audio medium and that radio is a visual medium. I obviously don’t mean that quite literally; but what i mean by that is that good radio, which depends on words, requires of the listener a whole range of visual images in his mind in order to be part of that radio broadcast. Television, With its pictures, is almost useless without good words to go with it. So I tend to want to emphasize the words on television and the images created on radio.
