Abstract:

This study assessed the degree of parent’s perception on the implementation of the five elements of K to 12 curriculum in the primary level of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba. Random sampling was used to get the 158 parent- respondents from grades 1-3 levels. A four-point Likert scale questionnaire was distributed and treated with simple mean to determine parents’ perceptions.

It was found out that there was a strong implementation of the K to 12 curricular program in the primary department of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba for the academic year 2014-2015. Among the curricular elements, the Medium of Instruction was most strongly implemented.

Hence, it was recommended for the teachers to do integrated curriculum mapping to satisfy the spiral progression approach in delivering lessons. For future study, the researchers advised inclusion of other respondents such as students, faculty, and administrators on their perception on the degree of the implementation of K to 12 primary education curricular program.
