EFFECTS OF PLAY THERAPY ON THE SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING OF SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILD

Abstract:

This study determined the effectiveness of play therapy in enhancing the subjective well-being of a sexually-abused child. Using single n’design, the study utilized one participant who came from recreation and action center in Calamba. After being subjected to a play therapy, the participant answered the PANAS-C and SWLS and was also interviewed by a social worker. Specifically, the study described pre-treatment or baseline condition (A1) of the participant in terms of subjective well-being status; determined the condition of the participant in terms of subjective well-being status during the introduction of CBPT (treatment phase B1); described the post-treatment condition (A2) of the participant in terms of subjective well-being after the first introduction of CBPT; determined the condition of the participant in terms of subjective well-being status during the re-introduction (B2) of CBPT; identified the effect of play therapy on the subjective well-being of sexually-abused child and the implications of play therapy on her subjective well- being.
