THE ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES OF SEQUOIA HOTEL QUEZON CITY IN HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT

Abstract:

This case study determined the environmental practices of Sequoia Hotel on energy and water consumption, waste and air management, and noise control; the housekeeping practices related to environment; and, their implementation of green building program.

The study found that the personnel in the housekeeping department and the other employees in the hotel know the applied environmental practices in the hospitality industry. The researchers, however, recommended providing employees awareness in conserving energy, implementation of recycling program, providing screen on their windows and smoking area for the guests, and respecting their privacy.
