A Comparative Study of the Nutritional Status of the Grade Six Pupil in Wireless Elementary School and Our Lady of Fatima Academy Grade School in Davao City

Abstract:

This study shows the nutritional status of grade six pupils of Wireless Elementary school and Our Lady of Fatima Academy. The data were gathered through a survey which took place on both campuses. Thirty respondents from both campuses were chosen as the participants of the study using random sampling. An anthropometric measurement was used since the height and weight are visible and are more accurate in measuring individuals’ nutritional status. Both groups were taken measurements and these data were compared. Statistical analysis was done through getting the average for each nutritional status level such as underweight, normal and overweight. Percentages were also taken. Results have shown that there are more grade six pupils of Our Lady of Fatima Academy who are normal in nutritional status than the grade six pupils of the Wireless Elementary School.
