The Relationship Between Stress and Eating Habits in Senior College Students of the University of the Immaculate Conception for the AY 2009-2010

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between stress and eating habits of senior college students of the University of the Immaculate Conception. The respondents of the study were 100 senior students enrolled at the University of the Immaculate Conception A.Y. 2009-2010. They were given a survey questionnaire in which they have to answer the questions with a Strongly Agree, Agree, Fairly Agree, Disagree or Strongly Disagree choices and some selected questions that are related to problem. Findings of the study revealed that in general they know and understand stress but there are times that they are incapable when under stress. Moreover, the findings showed that the respondents in general, have average eating habits because they are quite aware of the benefits of eating right. But then, sometimes because of stress, they tend to just eat almost everything. Basing on the results, the researchers concluded that these selected senior college students have the knowledge regarding stress and how it affects their eating habits. Moreover, senior college life affected the stress level and eating habits because of the lack of time management between their priorities and needs.
