Automatic Flash Disk Data Compressor/Decompressor

Abstract:

This study aimed to develop an automatic flash disk data compressor and decompressor that will help flash disk owners to maximize the capacity of their device. It incorporated a lossless data compression algorithm which is called Huffman in their program to efficiently compress the size of files stored in the flash disk. The developed program will only work on flash disk and can only compress several commonly used file types. Survey questionnaire was used in the study to evaluate the said program.

Results showed that the program is reliable, efficient, and easy to use. The research recommended that there should be more file types that the program can compress and the compression and decompression should be made faster and  better.
