Abstract:

The objective of the study was to develop a cellular phone health adviser that provides specific information on weight.

CellPHAd was designed to determine the Body Mass Index (BMI) and Body Metabolic Rate (BMR) of weight and height of Filipinos from 20 to 65 years old. It was based on the Nutritionist-Dietitian’s Association of the Philippines Diet Manual and Food Exchange Lists for Meal Planning. Linear search algorithm was also used for the construction of the questions to be used for interaction.

The study found out that the proposed system is acceptable to the respondents based on the criteria presented in the evaluation of the system in terms of its user-friendliness, convenience, correctness, and system’s accuracy.
