Abstract:

The synthesis conditions for optimum conductivity of polypyrrole (Ppy) doped with paratoluene sulphonate (p-TS) from aqueous solutions are determined. PPy(p-TS) films were synthesized under varied plate current densities, anion molarities, and synthesis temperatures. The electrical conductivities of these films of room temperature are found to be in the range 0.49 -32.92 (Ω-cm)-l. The films with the highest conductivities are found to be those prepared at current densities near 3.0 mA/cm2, onion molarities near 0.140 M, and synthesis temperature in the range 2 – 18Ëšc.
