Abstract:

The researchers studied the feasibility of establishing Gelatour in SM-Calamba. It is an ice cream kiosk that offers different varieties of ice cream from different countries: Italy’s gelato, Korean’s Bingsu, Japanese’s Mochi ice cream, and the Philippines’ Sorbetes, that will be served in different sizes. Survey with 400 respondents was conducted to identify their willingness to try the products of Gelatour. Interview with and observation on the competitors were also done to identify the projected supply. Survey indicated that 96% of the respondents were willing to try the goods and services of the proposed business. The capital needed to start the proposed business is ®1,000,000. The payback period is two years and the average return of investments in terms of accounting income is 115% every year. When the proposed business is financially stable already, it should expand by establishing another branch in another location to increase the demand for the product and the income of the business. It should maintain the marketing plan and strategies to effectively promote the products. More varieties of the products should be added to provide the customers greater choices that can strengthen their interest in the products. The machines and equipment should be monitored and maintained so that they can be used longer and to assure proper discipline among employees while in the workplace.
