A Feasibility Study in the Establishment of House of Pastries in Nuvali, Santa Rosa, Laguna

Abstract:

House of Pastries is a restaurant-patisserie where people can find different kinds of pastries around the world. Its diners will not only satisfy their cravings but will also experience the culture of different countries. With pastries as global trend nowadays, many restaurants are a bakeshop and a restaurant at the same time The proposed business, House of Pastries, will be the home of the country’s own traditional pastries with the incorporation of foreign pastries. The restaurant-patisserie has different mixes of recipes that are in the best quality and reasonable prices to cater to the insatiable cravings for a unique pastry. The initial investment for the project was computed at ® 6,300,433 and the partners agreed to contribute equally. The decision criterion showed positive results which indicated that the project should be accepted. Marketing Feasibility. The emerging growth of restaurant-patisserie in the Philippines gave the idea to establish this kind of business. The conducted survey showed that the workers, young professionals and students, as the target market, were numerous in Nuvali Sta, Rosa, Laguna. The discovered unsatisfied demand in the first year of operation was 548,072 people and it was expected to increase at a rate of 7.5% annually. Technical Feasibility. The House of Pastries would be a hundred square meter place with high quality raw materials and equipment for production and well-designed for its customers to relax and do their work. The estimated cost of equipment was ® 1,956,205. The prices in the menu ranged from ®29 to ®112 for pastry, ®173 to ®260 for pasta and ®43 to ®294 for drinks. Organization and Management Feasibility. General partnership will be the form of ownership of the proposed venture. The House of Pastries will have a total of 14 employees who will consist of three managers, three bakers, two cooks, two waiters, two cashiers, and two baristas. The project will also provide salary incentives like the 13th month pay and contributions to SSS, Pag-IBIG and PhilHealth. Financial Feasibility. The business should be accepted. It showed acceptable results in its financial ratios, net present value, internal rate of return, return on investment and profitability index which are bases for the acceptance of the project. Socio-Economic Feasibility. People looking for a nice working and studying environment, as well as for delicious pastry, pasta, and various drinks would be the beneficiaries of the proposed venture. It would also help the city government and the national government through payment of taxes, permits and licenses and provide jobs to unemployed individuals in the area. Environmental Feasibility. The House of Pastries would provide a clean and sanitized environment, conduct its production in a high level of cleanliness, and use proper waste disposal management.
