Abstract:

Proper lighting makes tasks easier. Poor lighting can be a health hazard; too much light can cause eye irritation and too little light can affect the quality of work. A certain part of Brgy. Dila, Bay, Laguna lacked a street lighting system causing some accidents to be reported to the Municipal Office. The researchers recommended alternative 3 as the best solution to the problem of this study in terms of efficiency and cost. The payback period for alternative no.3 is 0.505 year or 6 months. Based on the data gathered, the total project cost is much more economical than the other alternatives. Also, the annual operation cost for this alternative is less expensive than the others which would make the procedure easier to maintain. After conducting several experiments, the researchers were able to meet their objectives. The case study offered a better and cost-efficient street lighting system.
