Design and Installation of Storage Tank for the Existing Drainage System of the Eli's Business Center at Brgy. Milagrosa, Calamba City

Abstract:

The study focused on creating a new design and treatment for the improvement of the existing drainage system of Eli’s Business Center at Brgy. Milagrosa, Calamba City Laguna. The main objective of this study was to transfer the waste water of Eli’s Business Center to the municipal drainage system. In Eli’s Business Center, the drainage water coming from the two buildings are stored in a reservoir which results in frequent dislodging of the waste water, and it also causes an unwanted smell nearby. To solve this problem, the researchers proposed three alternative solutions. First is to design the sanitary drainage line and directly flush to the municipal drainage with one water reservoir; second is to redesign the sanitary drainage line with primary treatment in order to have another use before flushing to the municipal drainage; and lastly, to redesign the sanitary drainage line with water filtration system before flushing to the municipal drainage. The researchers conducted a study on the three proposals and recommended an alternative solution that is safe and cost efficient.
