Abstract:

Adult education is plagued by conceptual quagmire as it struggles to clarify and define concepts and constructs that underlie its processes and practice, Fundamental to understanding adult education are clearer definitions of the following: adult, adult learner, adult learning, adult teaching, adult education, adult educator, adult teacher, continuing education, and lifelong learning - within the context of a learning continuum replete with dichotomies.
