Discipline: Languages

Abstract:

This article investigates the responses of 189 Primary teachers and 217 Secondary teachers from 80 schools on the effectiveness of services for English language provided by the Hong Kong government Task Force on Language Support (TFLS), particularly the findings of Stage 1 that reviewed the effectiveness of support and assessed and tracked improvements in a large number of areas. Respondents were generally in favour of the support offered. Primary, and less experienced teachers found the support especially helpful. However, a number of areas were identified where it was felt that further support and attention was required.
