AN ETHICAL ANALYSIS OF FILIPINO LOYALTY

Abstract:

A documentary analysis of the works of local and foreign scholars who have written on Filipino behavioral traits' yields certain qualities that are reported as generally characteristics of the Filipino people. This paper, however, will deal with the general positive trait of loyalty, in each of its four specific manifestations as familial loyalty, patriotism, religiousness and utang na loob (gratefulness), for the purpose of ethical analysis and clarification.
