Trends in Business Education in the Philippines

Abstract:

Courses in Business Management started in the Philippines after the arrival of the Americans early in the 20th century. What initially started off with a few tertiary level schools (University of the Philippines, Jose Rizal College, National University, University of Sto. Tomas, Far Eastern University, and De La Salle University) offering the three-year Bachelor's degree in Commerce programs and many private schools offering two-year Associate in Commercial Science, Junior Secretarial, and Secretarial Administration programs as preparatory courses, has become, today, an area where the students enrolled in this four-year degree course constitute 36% of the total enrolled at the tertiary level
