Abstract:

The main objective of the study was to evaluate the present condition of the existing bearing of induced draft fan assembly of the boiler of Batangas Coal-Fired Thermal Power Plant. This would serve as the company’s third opinion on how to overcome the bearing worn-out of the IDF assembly. It also aimed to recommend a lube system that would prolong the life of the bearing and avoid the shutting down of the whole system.

It was found out that the existing lubricant oil is not sufficient to the current bearing the company is using. The cooling system is not efficient, thus, the study recommended the installation of a lube system for the bearing to prolong its life.
