Abstract:

There is only one crisis in the world--the crisis of transformation. The trouble is that it is now storming upon us from every direction. It is man's desire to improve his quality of life that has led him to this crisis. We are undergoing a great historical transition to new levels of technology all over the world. In the last century, we increased our speeds of communication by a factor of our speeds of travel, our speeds of data handling by; our energy resources, our power of weapons by; our ability to control diseases by;  and our rate of population growth to times what it was a few thousand years ago.
