Abstract:

This study focused on the reduction of frequent breakdown of air compressor, the present problem of Taihei Altech Construction (Phils.) Inc., in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

Through analysis of the mechanical failure and present set-up of the equipment, the root causes of the frequent breakdown of the compressor were found out. Clogging of parts of the compressor, oil leaks, filters replacement, and inadequate ventilation of the compressor room were the causes of the breakdown. These factors were evaluated to come up with the solutions to the existing problem.

The study recommended three alternative solutions to solve the problem. Design computations, schematic diagrams, and economic studies for each alternative solution were shown. Feasibility, practicality, efficiency and project cost were considered to come up with the best alternative.
