Anatomy of Immorality In Public Service

Richard Arens

Discipline: History

Abstract:

The study of the "Pulahan Movement in Samar and Leyte is an attempt to show the origin and the social dynamics of that movement. The writer, who had already undertaken some folklore research in Samar and Leyte, was approached by Dr. E. Quema Sumulong, Director of the National Museum in 1957, to shed some light on this movement. As with so many aspects of Philippine history, monographs on this matter are few - one of the reasons why it is difficult to write a food Philippine history.
