Abstract:

Social loafing is common in the academe especially in activities that needs group cooperation. This paper digs deeper into investigating why students loaf. A validated researcher-made questionnaire was used to investigate the problem. It was confirmed that dean’s listers do not loaf but if they have notice a partner who seems to be free riding on their efforts, they lessen their own efforts and instead play the sucker’s role.
