Towards a Federal Parliamentary Democracy?

Abstract:

Government exists, to rephrase the famous quote from Abraham Lincoln, for the people. That however presupposes that people are informed, intelligent, and are aware of how government is run. In a country where people are sadly uninformed as they are misinformed on controversial political issues, and sharply split by economic, cultural, political, and economic conditions, Lincoln's phrase becomes merely proverbial.
