Abstract:

This study designed a microwave link to connect PLDT-Calamba and ETON City in Laguna. The traffic would cater to various telecommunication needs of ETON City, such as WIFI, telephony, internet connectivity, and other residential and business services.

Substantial data were gathered from the host company, municipalities, site personnel, and manufacturers. The technical design featured a path length of 8.19 Km on an average inland terrain with frequency of 7 GHz band and a channel capacity of STM-1 or 75E1’s. Through the determination of path losses and other deteriorating factors, the system was prepared for any possible occurrence in its operation. Based on the different factors considered, TRuepoint 5300B Harris Radio Set and Andrew Antenna & Waveguide achieved the reliability objective of 99.9999%.

The project was proven feasible on all applicable methods, having a payback period of 131 days and an internal rate of return of 302.678%.
