An improved Control Panel for NEC PBX

Arbie G. Basinillo

Abstract:

The importance of having a good interface design may determine the success and failure of this endeavor. An unsuccessful designed user interface can be the cause of failure and it may appear as a user complaint. The results are disrupted operation, wasted time, effort and money, and failure to achieve the potential benefits of automated information handling. This study focused on improving proprietary software in NEC PBX where the researchers come up with an idea on how the proprietary software become a practical choice in configuring the NEC PBX where the authorized user can easily search specific features on the proprietary software called PCPRO. The project serve as a third party program embedded into the PCPRO where it simplifies the list of NEC PBX features. The researchers conducted an interview to a number of respondents to identify the problem. This led them to undergo a tough investigation on how to control and improve the proprietary software physically by the use of AutoItv3 software also known as “Automated Scripting Language”, which made the creation of the application successful. The application used Microsoft Visual Studio .NET.
