Abstract:

The Philippine social security system ishandled by two government agencies, theSocial Security System (SSS) and the GovernmentService Insurance System (GSIS). TheSSS serves the needs of the private sector, andthe GSIS, those of government employees.These two agencies employ the fully-fundedor reserve-fund system of financing the socialsecurity mechanism.
