Abstract:

Assay of the efficacy of different concentration of round turmeric in the management of diseases of sweet pepper under laboratory condition was conducted in the Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture,Central Mindanao University from June 2011 to May, 2012 . The experimental design to be used in this experiment is the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with six (6) treatments replicated three (3) times. Assay of the different concentration of round turmeric significantly affected the mean mycelial growth of Stemphylium sp., Sclerotium sp., Cercospora sp. affecting sweet pepper. Result of the study also showed that the mean number of Pectobacerium carotovorum (Erwinia carotovora) colony is affected by the application of round turmeric extract. It is recommended that follow-up study be conducted to evaluate the efficacy of higher concentration of round turmeric against natural occurrence of diseases of sweet pepper.
