THE QUALITY OF RELATED LEARNING EXPERIENCE OF THIRD YEAR NURSING STUDENTS OF COLEGIO DE SAN JUAN DE LETRAN CALAMBA IN A GOVERNMENT AND A PRIVATE HOSPITAL

Abstract:

The study aimed to determine the quality of related learning experience of third year nursing students at Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba in a government and a private hospital. Fifty-four (54) selected third year nursing students of Colegio de San Juan de Letran Calamba who had their rotation at Laguna Provincial Hospital and St. John the Baptist Medical Center from November 2009 to January 2010 were chosen as respondents. frequency, weighted mean, and t-test to determine the quality of both hospitals. Results showed that there is no significant difference in the quality of related learning experience gained by the respondents in the learning acquired procedures performed, and relationship with the staff of both hospitals; however, there is a significant difference in the facilities provided.
