Abstract:

The study describes the outcome of the ‘Intensive Community Health Nursing Experience Program’ of St. Luke’s College of Nursing of Trinity University of Asia on Nursing students who undertook the curricular activity in Liliw, Laguna, Philippines. The study utilized the after-only research design employing a survey questionnaire as the main tool in data gathering. The eighty-eight (88) Nursing students who completed the program were purposely selected as respondents. Findings of the study indicate that community immersion as a curricular activity amplifies positive attitude of Nursing students towards provision of quality health care to individuals that necessitate nursing support services. In addition, it provides an avenue for students to put into practice nursing theories and concepts learned in the classroom setting to actual clinical and community setting.
