Antimicrobial Potential of Endophytic Fungi isolated from the Leaves of Origanum vugare, Psidium guajava and Chrysophyllum cainito

Abstract:

This study sought to address the following questions: (1) Does the endophytic fungi found in the leaves of Origanum vulgare have an anti-microbial potential when tested against the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus? (2) Does the endophytic fungi found in the leaves of the Psidium guajava do have an anti-microbial potential when tested against the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus? (3) Does the endophytic fungi found in the leaves of Chrysophyllum cainito have an anti-microbial potential when tested against the Staphylococcus aureus? (4) Is there any significant difference between the zone of inhibition between the two sample endophytiv fungi Origanum vulgare & Psidium guajava? (5) Is there any significant difference between the zone of inhibition between the two sample fungi Origanum vulgare & Chrysophyllum cainito? (6) Is there any significant difference between the zone of inhibition between the two sample fungi Psidium guajava & Chrysophyllum cainito? and (7) Is there any significant relationship between the zones of inhibition of the three sample endophytic fungi and Choramphenicol (positive control)?
