Abstract:

Due to the difficulties of students in the field of mathematics and solving for graphs of a certain mathematical equations and solutions, the researchers came up with a study of making a tool, namely a graph-generating program to help students of Our Lady of Fatima University Lagro in solving for the graphs of a certain mathematical equation. This would be for use of Faculty under Math Department of the said university. The study scope covers four areas of Mathematics namely Trigonometry, Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics, particularly the topics that requires the use of graphs in relation with the Cartesian plane. The equations, solutions, and evaluated answers that would eventually be the basis of generating the graph will be taken in consideration in making the algorithm of the program. The study encompasses the evaluation of an equation and producing its answer through inputting the values.

In order to evaluate and the existing and proposed program, as well as to see which is better, the proponents conducted a survey. The respondents, who were professors and students of Our Lady of Fatima University, participated in answering the survey and testing the program and determine which of the two was better. Though the proponents concluded that there is no significant difference between the two in features like accuracy, being user-friendly, reliability, effectiveness, and operations, the weighted proposed program, commonly rated as excellent, is higher compared to the weighted mean of existing system, which is rated as very good.
