Abstract:

In the Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP), almost all transactions are implemented with the use of the computer. It is envisioned that all transactions are implemented with the use of advanced technology. But in some cases, like the Student Advising of the Registrar’s Office, these are still done through manual process.

The manual process of evaluating the students’ records usually takes a long time. The registrar usually takes two weeks to get the result done using the manual process. To solve such problems and to further align the vision of TIP in implementing a computerized method in all of its transactions, this study was conceptualized.

The development of a web-based expert system for student advising was the focus of the study. Through this web-based expert system for student advising, a new procedure could be implemented in the institution. Accurate and reliable results could be produced and could be accessed by both the students and the registrar’s office of the school.
