Leah T. Salas

Abstract:

The main objective of the study was to design, develop, and evaluate a Web and Mobile- Based Faculty Evaluation System for higher education institutions to enhance faculty evaluation procedures. Specifically, it sought to benchmark the criteria and policies of the traditional evaluation system of the different higher education institutions, to design and develop the proposed evaluation system through the identified system requirements, and to evaluate the acceptability and utility of the customized system based on ISO 9126 standards.

Based on the data regarding the faculty evaluation procedures and processes of different educational institutions, the system was developed through the RAD’s construction phase. PHP was used as the programming language with the support of Javascript and Cascading Style Sheet (CSS). WAMP package was used to utilize the Apache Server as web server, MySQL as administrator, and phpMyAdmin as database. Evaluation results revealed that there is a constructive approval on the web and mobile-based faculty performance evaluation system from the respondents as affirmed by the excellent ratings given to six criteria namely: functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability.
