Pag-angkin sa Politika at Poetika ng Piling Tula ni Nicolas Guillen sa Karanasang Pilipino: Isang Pagsasaling Ideolohiko / Claiming the Politics and Poetics of Selected Poems of Nicolas Guillen in Filipino Experience: An Ideological Translation

Abstract:

Ang pagsasalin ay isang prosesong ideolohiko na kinasasangkutan kapuwa ng isinasalin at nagsasalin. Sa proseso ng paglilipat ng taglay na estetika at diwa ng orihinal patungo sa muling pagkatha sa salin, napagtatagpo nito ang magkahiwalay na daigdig na nagiging isang bagong karanasan. Ang pagsasalin bilang sining ng muling pagkatha sa mga piling tula ni Nicolas Guillen ay isinakonteksto ng tagasalin upang mailapit ang tamis at giting ng mga tula ng makatang AfroCubano sa karanasan ng mambabasang Pilipino. Inilapat ang Teorya ng Manipulasyon ni Andre Lefevere (1992), at sa gabay na rin ng ilang Pilipinong teorista gaya nina Patricia Melendrez-Cruz at Antolina Antonio (1989) at Teodoro Agoncillo (1981), napagtibay ang mga salin bilang larangan ng pag-angkin sa matingkad na politika at poetika ng isang makatang kasapi ng Ikatlong Daigdig at ang ambag ng kanyang panulaan sa pagpapayaman ng panitikang nakikisangkot sa bansa at daigdig.

 

Translation is an ideological process involving the translator and the translated work. By inscribing the aesthetic features and message of the original text to its translated version, translation fuses the world of the original with its translated form, resulting in a new experience. Using the Theory of Manipulation by Andre Lefevere (1992) including the ideas of Patricia Melendrez-Cruz and Antolina Antonio (1989) and Teodoro Agoncillo (1981), the translator attempted to contextualize and breathe new life to the selected works of African-Cuban poet Nicolas Guillen in Filipino experience so it can be read and appreciated by Filipino readers. The theories also proved that translation is an art requiring the ownership of the politics and poetics of the third world poet and his contributions to the enrichment of committed literature in the country and the world.
