When the body has HIV-AIDS: A Theology of the Body

Abstract:

This paper explores the advocacy concern of St. Paul University Iloilo on HIV/AIDS and explores the questions: What could the people living with HIV/AIDS teach us about the way we do theology? What could the body with HIV/AIDS teach us about being a body? The body, in the Pauline context, could provide a take off point in providing a vision of solidarity as an advocacy stance of St. Paul University Iloilo in journeying with people with HIV/AIDS. The project could unpack the Pauline letters and propose how the Body of Christ could be expanded beyond ecclesiology and view it within the notion of eschatology. How could we reimagine our participation in the Body of Christ as we walk with the people living with HIV/AIDS?
