The study focused on the community involvement in Cavinti Underground River and Cave Complex as a potential tourism site. Cavinti Underground River and Caves Complex is rich in natural resources as well as natural attractions that offer scenic views for adventurous tourists. This study specifically identified the profile of underground river and cave complex as a potential tourism site in terms of its characteristics, tourist activities, tourist arrivals and the management; determined the views of local people towards community involvement; identified the challenges for development of Cavinti underground river; and determined their action plans on the improvement of Cavinti Underground River and Cave complex. The researchers utilized the qualitative approach to achieve the objectives of the study. The necessary data were gathered through interviews with the barangay captains, tourism officials and residents of Cavinti. The results showed that the local community believed that Cavinti Underground River and Cave Complex is one of the most charismatic caves in the Philippines. It is the second biggest cave in the Philippines. It was recommended that Cavinti residents should be involved in any planned activities in the area to improve the people’s awareness and to allow them to reap the benefits of the tourist site. Additional promotions should be made, especially flyers, brochures, social media and print materials to further promote the Cavinti Underground River and Cave Complex. Also, the municipality of Cavinti must improve and develop local infrastructures to make it more accessible to tourists. Finally, Cavinti officials must establish more linkages to international organizations and agencies to ensure the continuous improvement of the site.
