Abstract:

Blood typing using anti-A and anti-B blood grouping sera among 3,771 Filipinos in 12 Barangaya of Los Banos, Laguna showed a frequency of 22.81% "A", 28.98% "B", 6.36% "AB" and 41.85% "O" blood types. Based on a x2 test, the calculated gene frequencies of 0.16 A, 0.19 B, 0.65 0 and genotype frequencies of 0.02 AA, 0.04 00 BB,0.42 op, 0.06 AB, 0.21 AO and 0.25 BO were found to follow Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Significant correlations were found between Diabetes mellitus and blood group •A• (C=0.057), epilepsy and blood group "A" (C=0.052) and keloid tendency with group "A" and "AB" (C=0.06).
