The study dealt with the improvement of cooling water system utilizes by ATC in its metal heat treatment facilities and equipment. The study was specifically expected to determine the causes of overheating and to come up with a practical, economic, and effective way to resolve the problem.
The study aimed to provide a reasonable and economical approach to improve the cooling water system on carburizing furnace. Specifically, it also aimed to stop the clogging on the heat exchanger because of unwanted contaminants in the water.
Findings revealed that outside air brings dirt to the cooling system that in turn causes the cover on heat exchanger to accumulate thick mud which creates the clogging.
