The Lived Experiences on Romantic Relationships of Selected Women: Understanding Their Sexuality

Abstract:

The sexuality of women may be described by how they deal with their romantic relationships. This phenomenological study reveals that decisions made by women in their romantic relationship are based on what they wanted regardless of whether they will be happy or not. The capability of women to make choices evolved as a result of their experiences.

The experiences of four women on their romantic relationships were reflected upon in order to understand their sexuality. Three themes emerged in the first reflection, which are; believing in the lie, living the lie, and belying the lie. In the second reflection, two themes evolved--the women have the will to choose, and the ability to invent and reinvent themselves in order to live with the choices they made.
