Abstract:

Android is a flexible and fun phone platform that is also very useful to everything you can think of. The flexibility of Android is not limited to phone calls, SMS, Wi-Fi, Facebook browsing and any other usage. It can be useful with automation like remotely controlled your lights, electricity, door security where you can only open it with your Android powered mobile phones through internet, Wi-Fi, Infrared and Bluetooth. In computer engineering specifically embedding, it uses the most famous and interesting microcontroller known as Arduino. It is an open source physical computing platform based on a simple input/output (I/O) board and a development environment that implements the Processing language (www.processing.org). Arduino can be used to develop standalone interactive objects or can be connected to software on the computer. The boards can be assembled by hand or purchased preassembled; the open source IDE (Integrated Development Environment) can be downloaded for free from www.arduino.cc. The IDE runs on different platform like Windows, Unix / Linux and Mac OS.
