Abstract:

The SPUD BSN program is recognized through its excellent performance in the Nurse Licensure Examinations (NLE). Consistent attainment of high passing rate in NLE is a product of several factors, mostly preparations on the part of the student, and the institution. The BSN review program is the final preparatory activity that the graduates undergo before sitting for the NLE.

The graduates will sit for a competency exam prior to the review program. After the completion of the program, an evaluative examination, called the pre-board examination, will also be conducted in order to assess the graduates’ readiness to take the NLE.

This study will evaluate if the competency examination can predict a graduate’s pre-board examination ratings through examining their difference and relationship.
