This quantitative and qualitative study determined the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic performance of college student-mothers. Thirty five qualified student-mothers answered the College Academic Self-efficacy Scale (CASES) while five student-mothers were randomly selected to participate in individual interviews.
The study found that these student-mothers have a fairly high level of academic self-efficacy and a fair level of academic performance. They performed ‘fairly’ in Languages and Social Sciences; good in major subjects; and needed improvement in allied subjects.
