Abstract:

This research determined the level of job satisfaction based on the delegated duties and responsibilities of the rotated HR staff of a company as an input to the firm’s succession planning endeavor. The study was conducted with five HR staff using the Job Diagnostic Survey (JDS) as the research instrument. The ratings were interpreted using the Motivating Potential Score (MPS) that measures the extent in which a job exhibits the five job characteristics (skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback) wherein jobs scoring high in terms of a combination of these five characteristics results in higher job satisfaction and productivity. Also, duties and responsibilities were analyzed by employing compare and contrast analysis to determine how their tasks differ from their previous and current designation.
