Abstract:

This study aimed to provide the best alternative solution that can improve the present signal reception of SMART in Barangay Palasan, San Juan, and San Jose in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Using the descriptive research design, the researchers conducted an interview with SMART official. Survey was administered to the residents of the  three barangays to determine their responses to the proposed alternative solutions, such as (1) installation of macro repeaters, (2) installation of base station using directional panel antenna, and (3) installation of microcells in the electric pole. SWOT analysis of each alternative was made. The researchers found that the installation of macro repeaters is the best solution to the problem. The total project cost is Php 2,002,443.446 with a payback period of one year and 29 days.
