Abstract:

This study provided alternative back-up solutions for PLDT’s Access Gateway Cabinets to supply efficient telephone services even when power interruptions occur.

The three alternative solutions included installation of PV system via PIC MCU, via PLC, and via comparator. Comparing the three alternatives, the researchers considered installation of photovoltaic system via comparator as the most efficient, appropriate, and economical as it showed reasonable annual savings and net present value, greater rate of return, and faster payback period.
