Abstract:

This study was formulated to design the proper bearing that can withstand high Alkali solution and extreme heat to be used for the deflector roller of Union Galvasteel Corporation (UGC). The company encounters a problem on bearing corrosion of the deflector roller that is used to hold the galvanized iron sheets when dipping it to Alkali while it is in the pre-treatment process. Due to too much exposure to Alkali solution and extreme heat, the bearing becomes less lubricated.
