PRODUCTION AND MARKETING OF PAPER DRINKING STRAW USING RECYCLED PAPER

Abstract:

This study determined the feasibility of producing paper drinking straw coated with natural beeswax to make it more resilient to water absorption. Made from recycled paper, this product could be a replacement to the existing plastic straws used in fast food chains, hotels and restaurants. PapyEco Manufacturing Company would distribute the paper drinking straw to the different areas in Laguna like Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, Calamba and Los Baños City where there was a significant demand for the product and where the plastic ban was implemented and monitored. The company could assure production of a good quality of paper drinking straws.
