Abstract:

Tree-free paper bag is an environmentally friendly paper bag not only because it decays, unlike plastic bags, but because it is made entirely from bagasse, waste from sugarcane mills. Since it is chemically made, it is more durable; it also comes with a handle for the convenience of the users. This study determined the feasibility of producing paper bags from sugarcane bagasse; it aimed to make the product profitable and increase its market distinction among the available paper bags being produced by the other manufacturers. The proponents’ target market consisted of residents of Sto.Tomas, Tanauan, and Lipa. The proponents selected First Philippine Industrial Park, Brgy. Anastacia, Sto.Tomas Batangas as production site because of its easy access and proximity to the target market.
