This paper examined the local knowledge of the people’s organization on mangrove forest rehabilitation in Barangay Taytay, El Salvador, Misamis Oriental, after series of reforestation ensued. Specifically, this paper determined (1) the role of the people’s organization in the mangrove rehabilitation project, (2) the knowledge of the people’s organization on rehabilitation involvement, and (3) how this knowledge helps to sustain the mangrove rehabilitation project.¹ This study sought to establish the premise that the realization of the project does not depend on the early phase of the reforestation or rehabilitation but to the communal efforts and the effectiveness of the organization in the community.
