Discipline: Education
The main goal of instruction is to make our students become strategic and skillful learners. Studies show that when teachers implement instructional strategies that are backed up by solid research, this goal of instruction is realized. Two papers presented in the 15th International Conference on Teacher Education (2008) prove these points. This article discusses and presents the problem, strategies employed, findings, results, and implications to teaching of these two papers: Prewriting Activities, Writing, and Knowledge Construction by Abello and A Psychological and Philosophical Approach for Enhancing Learning: Focus on Students’ Life, by Acido- Muega.
